The Zuni World: A:shiwi A:wan Ulohnanne Exhibit Virtual Program Series
Before the exhibit The Zuni World – A:shiwi A:wan Ulohnanne comes to a close this September, join the S’eḏav Va’aki Museum (formerly Pueblo Grande) for a three-part free virtual program series. Two of the three programs will be fully virtual via WebEx, the third program will by hybrid via WebEx and in person at the Museum.
Wednesday, July 26th, 12-1:30pm (Arizona) virtual–
Artists featured in the exhibit The Zuni World, A:shiwi A:wan Ulohnanne will discuss their artwork and their involvement in the Zuni Map Project.
Wednesday, August 16th, 12-1:30pm (Arizona) virtual –
Screening of the short film “Then, Now, and Forever: Zuni in the Grand Canyon,” followed by a
discussion with Zuni artist, elder, and cultural advisor, Octavius Seowtewa.
Tuesday, September 12th, 6-7:30pm (Arizona) hybrid–
Curtis Quam, Director of the A:shiwi A:wan Museum and Heritage Center, and Matt Peeples, Associate Professor with the School of Human Evolution and Social Change, Arizona State University will discuss the Zuni Mapping Project and modern methods of recording the land. This program is given in partnership with the Arizona Archaeology Society.
